MVC Live brings together investors, startups and science luminaries

On September 9, 2025, Modi Ventures hosted its third annual investor reception — MVC Live — bringing together our limited partners, advisors, collaborators, and the founders and innovators building the future.

In less than three years, and with two funds, we’ve grown out of Houston and are privileged to be deploying capital toward the next generation of life-saving technologies and therapies. Our thesis, the Biostack, focuses on the layers of biology — DNA → RNA → protein → cell → tissue → human — and the convergence of sequencing, Artificial Intelligence, and cellular reprogramming.

We were honored to have Dr. Larry Brilliant as our keynote guest, along with William McKeon, CEO of Texas Medical Center, and grateful for the support and presence of leaders who make Houston a global hub for science: Dr. James Allison (Nobel Laureate), Dr. Pam Sharma, Paul Cherukuri, Stephen Bayer, Dr. Ron DePinho MD, Dr. Omid Veiseh and others.

We were also privileged to have Brad Watts share his journey as a former CAR-T patient, reminding us about the importance of patient voice and the impact we can have on human lives.

Houston is emerging as a global hub for life sciences. Modi Ventures is proud to be part of building it.
